It is such a long holiday for me but yet there are so many things to be considered. I wonder where did all my time, motivation and passion for blogging? I could not believe it took me so long to update my blog. Anyway, this entry was nearly two months ago. That day itself was daylight saving and UK time has change to an hour later. So I had to wake up around 8am that morning itself and to get myself ready for the hang out day. We were supposed to go out at 9.30am but because of the daylight saving, we went out around 10.30am.

We took underground to Leicester Square station and meet Cheryl there. She arrived in London from Hong Kong just one day before we came out with some plans to bring her around London. The first place we visit was Chinatown and then we headed to Trafalgar Square. Sadly, they were doing some kind of renovation on the fountain. For that reason, the entire place does not look nice but still we took a couple of pictures here and there.

Our next destination was Buckingham Palace. We took a nice and relaxing walk along the Green Park before reaching the palace. The weather on that day was really good and I found the sun for once. I just enjoyed walking around the park with such a nice weather. After the long walk, we headed back to Chinatown for lunch at Young Cheng. After lunch, we headed to Oxford Circus and I ended up in a few shops and bought something from H&M.

Next destination is a must to visit for tourist. It is the Big Ben and London Eye. We took underground to Westminster and as usual everywhere was pack with people and tourist. All of us were quite tired by then and again, we took underground to Victoria station because we had planned to have our dinner at J.D Weatherspoon. How I wish Malaysia has underground just like London. It will be so convenient for everyone.

Anyway, we spent some time looking for J.D and we managed to find it after asking a police woman. It is actually inside the Victoria Train Station. The place was pack and the moment we reach there, we realized that the price were much expensive than the price we usually had in other J.D. So, we decided to leave the place and headed to another J.D which is not very far from Victoria Station.

Finally, we reached another J.D Weatherspoon and managed to find a nice place to sit down. Well, the prices were still more expensive as compared the one we usually had but it was cheaper than the previous J.D inside the Victoria Train Station. Shouldn’t they have the same price for every J.D? Fated, we ended up leaving the place again after all the discussion on what to order from the menu. This time, the reason we left the place was not due to the price but it was due to another setback.

When I make my order, the guy at the counter asked me will I be ordering any alcohol. I told him I am not gonna order any of the alcohol drink. I never expect the guy and the lady at the counter would wanna see our passport or driving license. Obviously, I do not drive in UK, so I won’t have any driving license plus I will not bring my passport and walk around the crowded city. They said we do not look like 18 years old and because J.D is also a pub, so they need to see our identification. Firstly, I think they have some eye sight problem and how could we not look like 18 years old.

We showed them our international student ID and all the cards we have and to them, all are not going to prove that we were over age 18. Then, when one of my friends showed them the international student card, the guy said he can get that card easily and anywhere for £5. I couldn’t believe he actually said that and I told him he is not making any sense at all. When another friend of mine asked why the kids can even dine at J.D and he said because they have parental guide. We even talk to the manager but still, he need to see our passport. .

Anyway, we decided to just leave the place and there are actually nothing so special about Weatherspoon moreover they changed their menu and raises their price. My point was, it was fine for me to leave if we were not able to prove to them we were all over 18. The only annoying thing was the guy at the counter which mentions he could easily get our international student ID for just £5.

Well, we ended up in a western restaurant nearby called “Prezzo” for dinner. They have even nicer ambience and we had pasta and pizza there. After dinner, we accompany Cheryl back to her hotel at Hammersmith and we hang out at her room until 10pm. We were watching the movie “White Chicks” which I remember watching it a few times with my brother back in Malaysia and we’ll laugh right through the whole movie. I love that movie and it was hilarious. We didn’t finish the entire movie because it was already late and we need to take an hour underground back to our place. Great but tiring day.
